Love vs. Power

Where love rules, there is no will to power; and where power predominates, there love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.

Most popullar saying are wrong. What sort of power? power to controll? then the saying is correct.
What is power? to love, to do good, to be strong, to know when enough is enough, to controll yourself.

Yes, good point.. love doesn’t mean you become a helpless puddle with no own will. But still, love does set a limit to power; and love also knows that power is not a worthwhile end in itself.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.”

Why is everybody against power?? Power can corrupt. It can also delight. Power may be used to do wonderfull things. To save the world, to heal, to help… to solve, to make good… to Love selflessly…

Love of Power however is different to having it. Someone who has power and is a Good Guy can do great things. Do You recon?

I guess how the words are meant in this context is:

power for yourself, over others = ‘power’
power over yourself, for others* = ‘love’

*(as well as yourself – since others love you and want you to be well, too)

    Does that make any sense?

I think you see a disagreement where there is none 🙂

I guess what I am trying to bring out … out of myself …

Words especially within a popullar saying carry very deep, character behaviour forming, meanings.

ie. When Power is perceived negativelly or in opposition to another woderfull concept like LOVE.

Our unconscious mind takes it in and directs our behaviour, feelings and conscious thought. Whether we like it or not.

Does this make any sense? I find it quite difficult to catch this concept.

You know that saying ” Ignorance is Bliss”
Well, someone looked it up and apparently the whole saying is
“When tis a folly to be wise, ignorance is bliss”

Not sure if its relevant here but an interestig one

Here is a poem I wrote today, my second ever

There is a Tree with Fruit and Branches
You are the fruit your paths are branches
God gives each Fruit a tool to contact other Angels

The purpose of life is the conflict…
    Love or Power
Each choice forced by conflict asks this question.
They are opposites as one is gifted by god, the other by the devil. These are not mere words, but rather environments. Star Wars is a good example of the two forces of spirit.

If one looks into love it can not comprehend power. If one worships power love seems weak and boring. The variables of the inner environment are made with each choice. Building the nature of self little bits at a time.

Faith is to love what control is to power

Adjustable dumbbells cost closer to six hundred dollars while a sufficient set
of traditional dumbbells can be purchased for less than four hundred dollars.
After all, what are the chances that you would draw the one and only room
in a 200-room, five-star hotel whose weight room is located directly above your
head. Strength and physical fitness can help improve your skills
    as a field hockey player.
